Meet Your Local Pet-Loving Shelter in Naples
At Paws in Paradise, we know that when you’re relocating to Southwest Florida – for yourself and for your furry companion – having a supportive pet-care community matters. That’s why we’re proud to spotlight Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS), an incredible resource for animal welfare and adoption in the Naples area.
DAS serves as the open-admission public shelter for Collier County, working every day to reunite lost pets with their families, promote adoption of homeless animals, and help curb over-population through responsible pet care.
Why it matters for you as a Florida homeowner (and pet owner)?
If you’re relocating to Naples or nearby areas, knowing a local shelter like DAS exists means you have trusted backup – whether you’re searching for a new four-legged family member or in need of resources (lost pet, stray, etc.).
With Southwest Florida’s outdoor lifestyle, pets become part of the home scene: walks near the beach, exploring nature trails, lounging in the yard. DAS helps ensure that the pet-part of your paradise is well supported.
I, as your real-estate partner with Paws in Paradise, love to highlight not just homes, but the whole lifestyle: palm trees, breezy porches, space for dog runs, and local community resources for pets. DAS is a perfect fit in that vision.
How can you get involved (or benefit)?
Consider adopting a pet – it changes lives (yours and theirs).
Volunteer or foster – even temporary help gives animals a better shot at thriving.
Use the shelter as a resource: if you’ve found a lost pet, if yours is missing, or if you just need advice on pet-care or local regulations.
Spread the word – the more people know about DAS, the more pets get the chance they deserve.
Your Donations Make A Difference.
Are you interested in donating to Collier County Domestic Animal Services?
There are several ways you can help them improve the lives of homeless and abandoned animals in our community. Interested in donating your time, talent, or treasure? They have many options for you. They have a variety of opportunities for people who love animals and can donate some time to their well-being.
While their budget covers the basics for the animals in their care, it is contributions to Their Donation Trust Fund that allow them to go the extra mile and provide the top-level care their animals deserve.
Their Donation Trust Fund improves the lives of their shelter animals by providing enrichment such as training and agility equipment, helps pay for property improvements such as state-of-the-art play yards with shade canopies and Astroturf, and funds other services that keep their animals happy and healthy until they are adopted into their new families.
Every dollar makes a difference!
